Bio:
After graduation from DLHS, I attended DLU. In 1965 I married my love and my best friend, Fred Holladay.
In the fall of that year we moved to the west Tennessee town of Huntingdon, where we ran Holladay Furniture Co., Inc. for twenty years. It was a big adjustment to live in a glass house in a small town.
In 1967 when most of you were graduating from college, our first son Brett was born. Two years later our daughter Nikki was born. In 1972 I gave birth to identical twin boys, Kolin and Kent. Kent died shortly after birth. We miss so very much the blessing of his growing up with our family.
The next 13 years I was a stay at home mom and working at our home furnishings company as needed. In 1985 we sold the company to a national furniture chain.
We moved back to Nashville where Freddie took a position with the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) as senior vice president and chief financial officer. We both have enjoyed the people and we have a heart for the cause. NFIB represents small businesses and is rated the most influential lobbyist in the country.
We have had such wonderful opportunities to travel all over and around the world. We’ve met presidents, senators, congressmen, cabinet members, governors and some of the most wonderful people in the world who have no title.
We are
now entering a new phase of our lives — retirement. I don’t see us in rocking
chairs just yet. We are looking forward to new opportunities and more time with
parents, children and grandchildren.
Our oldest son, Brett, is 38, single and a CPA for Hospital Corporation of America. Our daughter, Nikki, a stay at home mom, is 36 and married to Guy Brooks. They have a 2 year old son, Morgan. Kolin, 33, is married to Misty Guy and is corporate securities counsel with Tractor Supply Co. They have 3 daughters, Grace Anne 7, Bryden 3, Brantley 2 and a son, Bradford 6.
My parents are still living the same house on Brookmeade Drive. What a blessing to still have them both!
I am a proud wife, mom, grandmother and daughter. It is great! I feel so blessed! God is indeed good!
